An Inside Look at Bridal Fashion Week 2026

It must come as no surprise that a fashion illustrator like myself makes it a priority to stay up to date on the latest bridal fashion trends. This means that, of course, I attended Bridal Fashion Week 2026! This is thebridal event of the season. These designers are showing off their spring 2027 collections and ultimately, telling us exactly what we will be seeing in bridal for the next year! And, as your resident fashion junkie, I’m giving you an inside look at what I saw and what you have to look forward to.

Emerging Trends from Bridal Fashion Week April 2026

Fabrics

Sleek fabric is still a favorite across all designers, whether we’re talking about the silhouette or the unembellished fabric itself. But sleek does not necessarily mean simple or boring. More designers are leaning into fabric manipulations, like dramatic draping, as well as delicate laces and ethereal fabrics that feel sexy and fanciful at the same time.

Details & Colors

The word that came to mind so often throughout this week was exquisite. I saw yards upon yards of delicate string beading, ruffles, and large, bold floral designs in color and in lace. I was also excited that many designers built upon the trends we saw in Fall of 2025, embracing fully colored gowns, muted color patterns, and even pops of color on traditional white and ivory pieces.

Silhouettes

Shape and silhouette are the most interesting parts of fashion design, in my opinion. I’m always fascinated by how much creativity and variety there is! And now, as I’m designing my own wedding gown, I’m paying closer attention than ever. Bridal Fashion Week 2026 brought us more mini dresses, high slit designs, and voluminous skirts. As I mentioned in the fabric section, soft draping and folds are becoming more and more common, creating interesting and eye-catching shapes. I’m also always happy to announce that Basque waist dresses are so much more than a trend, and strapless and cat eye necklines are just as popular as they were last year. The biggest surprise I saw was that peplums were making their way into the wedding industry!

Separate Pieces

If you’ve been paying attention to bridal fashion over the past few years, you may remember when detached sleeves were everywhere. Well, they’re back, and they’ve brought friends! Bridal separates are probably the biggest trend to come out of Fashion Week. We’re not only seeing overskirts and removable straps, but an influx of top and skirt combos that are breaking into a whole new world of design!

Bridal Fashion Designer

Wedding trends move more slowly than regular fashion trends, but each season, I see more interesting silhouettes and colors. The bridal fashion world is steadily expanding the definition of “bridal” and inviting more imagination and bolder design to the wedding industry. Personally, I was in love with the Basque waist designs (who’s surprised?), separates, and big floral prints.

As a fashion designer, I’m always interested in Bridal Fashion Week. But as a fashion designer who is currently planning her wedding… I was invested. I left New York feeling exhausted but inspired, ready to embellish my own wedding dress design and excited to work with other brides who want a one-of-a-kind wedding outfit! I offer custom wedding gown and veil designs for brides who want something unique and personal. If that’s you, I can’t wait to hear your vision!
