As a fashion illustrator and designer, very few things get me as excited as bridal fashion week. All of those designers are pushing the boundaries of bridal fashion, and we get to watch it unfold in real time. I’m like a kid in a candy shop. This week was unveiling bridal designs for Fall 2026, and I’m going to give you a peek behind the curtain.
Fall 2026 Bridal Fashion Week Trends
If you read my previous blog about Bridal Fashion Week for Spring 2026, you’ll see a few similarities. First, the Basque and drop waist designs are still going strong! Off-the-shoulder sleeves are still popular, creating that sweeping, romantic energy.
Some new things are going on this year, too! First of all, color and patterns. Designers are embracing all colors (even black!) and expanding with unique patterns, whether in the accessories, embellishments, or on the gowns themselves. This is especially noticeable in Hayley Paige, Sareh Nouri, Wona Concept, and Ines Di Santo’s collections. Bows are also becoming more noticeable, most frequently on the waist and shoulders. If bows are your thing, check out Sareh Nouri, Elie Saab, and Trish Peng! Another fun trend is cape accessories. Check out Wona Concept, Berta, and Elie Saab to see what I’m talking about. And, as always, large lace motifs are beloved across designers, though they’re becoming bolder and more exciting! See Guardiola Bridal and Berta for inspiration.
As the years progress, we are seeing more interesting and avant-garde pieces. Designers like Ines Di Santo, Nardos, Kim Kassas Couture, Nicole, and Felicia Coutureare are embracing volume and creating larger, more unique silhouettes. And each year, we see more bridal separates and short dresses. Explore Alexandra Grecco, Nardos, and Lein Bridal for more of those!
A Fashion Illustrator’s Opinion on Fall 2026 Fashion Week
I love that bridal is expanding through color and texture. Whether you want to stick to something traditional or go more “alternative”, choices are becoming more diverse, so everyone can find something special. Short, fun dresses for rehearsal and reception are definitely the trend, and I don’t see it ever going back.
I was also pleased to see that, in the midst of bolder and more experimental designs, every designer still created one or two simpler looks with classic, clean lines. I particularly loved Claire Pettibone as she went all out with intricate laces and embellishments while still sticking to her signature ethereal look with very little volume.
Hayley Paige at Bridal Fashion Week
The most exciting part of Bridal Fashion Week this year was seeing Hayley Paige back in action! If you didn’t know, Hayley Paige has been in a long legal battle with JLM Couture. For the past five years, she’s been fighting for the rights over her name and intellectual property, and in 2024, she won! The bridal industry is so excited to welcome her back.
