A Timeless Wedding at the Mansion at Pendry Natirar
As a live wedding illustrator, I get to work in venues all around the world. I’m always so excited when I get to see a new one! And this venue, the Mansion at Pendry Natirar, is a new favorite. Located only an hour from NYC on the Jersey side, the Mansion is secluded on 500 acres of land, giving you the perfect getaway from the city. I had such a wonderful time illustrating guests from this wedding!
Effortless Elegance at the Mansion at Pendry Natirar
This couple had a vision for a classic, timeless, and effortlessly elegant wedding. The Mansion at Pendry Natirar was the perfect choice! Not only is the property secluded and private, but the venue is also absolutely gorgeous. The sprawling main building feels like a modern take from Downton Abbey with intricate brickwork, towering chimneys, and leaded windows to let all the natural light in. The couple complemented this golden age sophistication with white long-stemmed flowers, clear acrylic chairs on the lawn, and custom embroidered linen pillows.
While the venue has dozens of ceremony locations to choose from, this couple got married outside, overlooking forests and low mountains. They stood on a short rounded platform surrounded by flowers. After the ceremony, they transitioned to an indoor/outdoor cocktail hour. One entire wall was full of windows, so it still felt seamless! This is where we set up our illustration station, and the natural light was perfect for drawing.
Live Illustrations & Personal Gifts
I partnered with Helen Xue for this wedding. The couple chose a five-hour package with ten overtime sketches from us both. They left the list completely open so anyone who wanted an illustration would be able to get one. Instead of including a border or text on the front of the illustration, this couple chose to print their wedding date and monogram only on the back. I love that more couples are choosing this option! This way, the sketch serves as a favor from the wedding day and a timeless keepsake for guests to take home and frame.
In addition to live sketches, the bride also commissioned a full illustration of her dancing with her dad. I completed the sketch before the wedding so the bride could gift it to her dad on the day of! While I wasn’t present for the exchange, I was told it was a very heartfelt moment. Illustrations are a special way to commemorate the most important moments of our lives!
