Why I Recommend Destination Weddings
As a wedding pro and someone who has personally attended many weddings, I have gone to my fair share of destination events. I think they’re an incredible opportunity to experience something new! But I understand that planning a destination wedding requires a different skillset than planning one in a local city. That being said, I still highly recommend that you consider getting married somewhere exotic—whether that’s a few hours' drive away or a plane ride!
Most people choose to have a destination wedding because they want something different. They want their wedding to be a unique experience, to create once-in-a-lifetime memories with their closest people. Whether you value gorgeous landscapes, unique culinary experiences, or want to immerse yourself in a new culture, a destination wedding is the perfect opportunity!
Destination weddings also have an unexpected benefit. They often require a smaller guest list, allowing you to only invite the people you really want to attend (sorry, Great Aunt Martha, but I didn’t know you existed until Mom insisted you get invited).

Of course, these are only a few locations out of the thousands you can find, but I chose them intentionally.
