Creative Illustrations for Société Privée at The Plaza in New York
As a live illustrator, I’ve provided all sorts of illustrations at all kinds of events. But this vendor event with The Société Privée at The Plaza is one of the most unique! Société Privée is an invitation-only wedding network, with chapters all over the country. They host an in-person event for their members twice a year, and this one aligned perfectly with New York Bridal Fashion Week (which I love to attend every year!).
An Event in the Palm Court of The Plaza Hotel
It was an honor to work with The Société Privée. I booked the event after reaching out to them with a recommendation from a current member, and was thrilled to be accepted! I sketched for around two hours. Guests gathered in the Plaza Palm Court, where the marble floors, lush palm plants, and gold details worked perfectly with the ballerina pink, chartreuse, and forest green color palette of the event.
Everything about this event was designed to inspire. The Société Privée is a space for wedding vendors, and this event gave vendors the opportunity to experience the wonder of a well-executed occasion as a guest, instead of working behind the scenes. I wasn’t the only live artist, either! In addition to receiving one of my sketches, guests could watch an engraver engrave their initials into a gold ring. The event even featured bridal and eveningwear designer Kim Kassas! Models in her designs walked around during the event, while members connected over tea and small bites.
Matching the Creative Vision
The vision for this event at The Plaza was different from many other brand events I’ve illustrated at. Instead of drawing guest portraits, they wanted me to draw everyone’s accessories! This could mean anything from purses and jewelry to shoes, and If someone didn’t have an accessory they wanted me to illustrate, I designed one based on their outfit.
This was such a creative way to commemorate the event, and started so many interesting conversations! Since this event took place during Bridal Fashion Week, the fashion was off the charts and accessories were unique and exciting. I had so much fun pulling inspiration from each guest’s outfit and illustrating their favorite accessories.
Illustrations for Your Next Event
This event with The Société Privée reminded me that there really are no rules when it comes to your event! I love finding ways to make every occasion feel personal and one-of-a-kind. Guest illustrations are always a welcome surprise, and finding ways to make even your illustrations feel distinct and unexpected adds to the charm. Whatever idea you have for your event, I’m excited to help you bring it to life! Learn more about my live illustration services and fill out the form to tell me all about it!
